It takes a special an patient individual to teach or instruct youth lacrosse players. Never having played college lacrosse I have been coaching youth lacrosse since 2003. I have worked with athletes from the tender age of 4-5 years of age through high-school players getting ready for college. I am someone who studies the game and teaches the game in a way that young players understand it. I understand that each of my athletes learns and comprehends instructions differently. I teach the game the way it should be played, I do not instruct fancy or stick trick lacrosse. Fundamentals win games. My program regularly increases a players shot speed by 5-mph, increases wall ball repetitions with the strong hand by 25-50% (and even more with the weak hand) and improves game IQ.
San Diego Lacrosse Academy develops individualized training programs for every athlete. Our group strength & conditioning sessions follow a detailed in-season and out-of season training sessions which are designed to increase speed, strength, hand eye coordination and shot speed for the shooters. Our programs are designed in a way that athletes are ready to play anytime throughout the year or for the next level. Our goal is to develop the techniques necessary to succeed both at your position and as an overall lacrosse player, while incorporating drills that improve physical fitness.
Lessons can be held are typically held in our facility located in UTC. We have the ability to travel to any location throughout San Diego County. We provide all equipment needed for training sessions. Athletes are required to bring protective equipment (beginner lessons available where no equipment is needed) hydration.
