More About Coach Bobby

I have been coaching and training basketball for over 5 years at all levels and ages ranging from 6 to 18 years old. I have experience at Royal Basketball School based out of Encino, CA, Dominican University in San Rafael, CA, and have also held private trainings independently through word of mouth referrals from existing clients. At Royal, I coach kids in age groups as young as 3-5 years, up to 14 years old. I also hold private trainings for kids through Royal several times per week.

I enjoy working with all ages and love seeing the transformation in knowledge and skill, whether it's a young kid just beginning their game at 6 years old, or the varsity player looking to perfect a specific skill before they begin their college career.

I have been playing basketball competitively since I was 6 years old, and continued my career through college, as well as overseas in Germany for a short time. I played forward/center throughout my career, but train in all positions and angles of the game.

For our initial training, I like to observe a few drills covering general fundamentals including athleticism, skills, and game IQ. My trainings are usually tailored to fit each client's wants and/or needs, but a general training should conist of the following:
1. Quick warm up
2. Footwork and movement
3. Dribbling drills - focusing on the areas for improvement or opportunity (or whatever it is client wants to focus on)
4. Shooting drills - (same as mentioned w/ dribbling drills)
5. Free throws - working on proper techniques, improving free throw percentage, and overall comfortability at the free throw line
6. Quick stretch
