More About Coach Bertrand
I Coached at a Division II university (Henderson State University) as a student assistant volleyball coach for four years. I also was involved with private volleyball lessons in Texarkana and Dallas for three years with athletes between the ages of 13 and 23. I coached a men's university club soccer team for a year. I also recently coached a children's soccer team (ages 4 to 5) and did private soccer lessons with young athletes ages 13 to 16, one of which successfully got accepted into an academy for one of the Major League Soccer teams. I started a bootcamp, functional fitness program and taught classes at a sportslpex in Texarkana Texas for three years where I built a following of upto 30 people between the ages of 14 and 50.
I played volleyball at a junior national level, did martial arts for (jiu jitsu) for four years, have played club soccer for 9years, was a competitive runner for approximately three years, and developed a personal fitness program that I eventually took to a gym and developed an outdoor fitness lifestyle program with approximately 30 participants. I was recognized as instructor of the year while I taught my classes and have recently continued to be very involved in speed, and functional training routines that I first test on myself before sharing. Still actively play club soccer and club volleyball.
First and foremost, I bring my music with me to all sessions to keep us company through the routines. Because I am experienced with volleyball, soccer, martial arts and general fitness, the first 15 to 20 minutes of training are a thorough combination of randomly selected exercises to target different muscle groups so that I can get an idea of where the athletes strengths and weaknesses are. Most athletes are either better or worse than they think they are and we usually find out during those first 15 to 20 minutes. The intensity of the workout is then adjusted as needed to incoprate safety and then modified as needed so that the exercises are tailored to meet specific needs of the athlete. For example, volleyball players might do various squat, burpee and knee tuck and jump drills which will incorporate elements of volleyball such as passing, setting or spiking the ball . Soccer players might then get into parachute sprints, ladder and cone drills which emphasize speed, agility, footwork and incorporate fundamental ball control. At the end of the work out session, I always have a small discussion with the athlete about character and that is part of the cool down where we assess where they are now and where they want to go from here. In summarry, I keep it simple, but in a complicated way, you just have to experience it to understand it.

Zack Ames -Texarkana,TX Club Volleyball Teammate & Workout partner (Testimonial)
I started working out with BK 5 years ago. Before I met him I had been a social smoker. After our first workout He taught me an important lesson. If I want to work out at the level he was at, I had to change my habits. That day I stopped smoking .... Not bc BK told me too but he taught me we first make our habits then our habits make us. Working out with BK has been one of the toughest things I've ever been through . I've done Insanity with Shaun T religiously now and comparing BKs workouts to that, they are on par with that intensity . I highly recommend him. Not just for the physical aspect but for the emotional intelligence and motivation he brings to each workout.
Jose Arroniz (Testimonial)
Mr. Maimo has been awesome as the soccer coach to my son James(15) and my daughter Mia(10) He is always encouraging them to push themself to the limit. He encouraged them to believe that anything is possible and that with hard work and dedication they could achieve their dreams. After several months of soccer coaching and training I have seen awesome results. Mr. Maimo is a dedicated coach that study the personality and level of his athletes and then create and provide a fun tailored, challenging and unique set of drills for specific areas of development so athletes can achieve their potential. He is a great coach committed to his athletes. He has a great personality. He has a great enthuasiasm for coaching and developing athletes. I respect him as a coach as the results and dedication talk about his professionalism. Thank you very Mr. Maimo for all you have done for James and Mia.
Dominique Kossehasse (Testimonial)
My name is Dominique Kosséhassé and since November, I've been training with BK to improve all aspects of my soccer career. Since then, he helped me improve my technical and and physical abilities, increasing my comfort on the field. What I like with BK's sessions is that, the intensity never stops. I'm thankful to be able to work with him after each sessions.
Edith Musebe (Testimonial)
I am Edith Musebe and i first met BK at Henderson state University Arkadelphia in 2006. I got a chance to train with him as a volleyball student coach for 3 years. He was very encouraging and hardworking person. As a student coach he not only stood on the sidelines during our games but he also trained with us before the season. He ran with us lifted weights with us, most interesting thing was when he would come up with workouts that only required your body and state of mind,so there was no excuse of whether it was raining or too hot outside or the gym is closed or whatever he proofed to us that he can actually make things work with whatever he has in front of him. As a results of his encouragement, and commitment to the team. I was named the MVP for two consecutive years at Henderson, and the most biggest of all i was named the first Daktronics player of the year in the school's history and up to now no body has broken the record yet. In addition, i have a one year old son and i still look good because what BK thought me i can do push ups in mine leaving room, or sit-ups . Thanks BK
