More About Coach Ben
I have attained through my many years of playing high level soccer the knowledge to coach a player anywhere on the field. During my summers in college I would assist my old high school soccer team train for their upcoming season. I am open to any age group as long as they have the drive to become a better player. I have yet to step into the coaching world but am hoping this is the right spot to do so.
I played club soccer my entire life and ended up getting a scholarship to play soccer at Wofford College where I played every year except freshmen year due to injury. Have been trained by some of the best in the area and have picked up many different coaching styles over the years. I scored 84 goals throughout my high school career as a striker and 54 with my club team (HFC).
Warm up lines to get the legs moving. Depending on the skill level of the player we will get touches on the ball. It will look different for each player depending on their skill caliber. Juggling, candle drill, first touch passing, dribbling through cones. Get lots of touches in early then move into more specific drills depending on the players position. For beginners we would do a little bit of everything; passing, basic defending, finishing. More experienced players will jump into their craft and work on sharpening their skills and gaining new ones to use in the future. Will have a conversation with the client prior to first meeting to gauge how I need to alter the training session.
