More About Coach Ben

I am a former ECNL player and current NCAA Division I athlete with over 1,200 minutes played as a freshman. I also compete in USL League Two during the summer with the Annapolis Blues, gaining experience in a high-level, competitive environment.

I work primarily with players ages 8–16, including recreational, travel, and competitive club athletes. My focus is on technical development, defensive positioning, game awareness, speed of play, and building confidence under pressure. Each session is structured and tailored to the athlete’s goals — whether that’s making a school team, earning more playing time, or preparing for higher-level competition.

As a current Division I player, I bring modern, game-realistic training methods and firsthand insight into what coaches look for at the next level. I emphasize discipline, consistency, and decision-making while creating a positive, high-energy training environment.

• Former ECNL player
• ECNL All-Conference selection
• Selected for the ECNL Conference Cup (top showcase event for conference standouts)
• ECNL Selection Game participant
• Current NCAA Division I athlete with 1,200+ minutes played as a freshman
• Compete in USL League Two with the Annapolis Blues
• Experience competing in front of 12,000+ fans in high-pressure environments

My background competing at the highest youth levels, Division I college soccer, and USL2 allows me to teach players the technical details, discipline, and mindset required to perform at elite levels.

A typical session begins with a dynamic warm-up and technical ball mastery to build rhythm, coordination, and confidence on the ball. From there, we move into position-specific technical work tailored to the athlete’s role.

As a defender and midfielder, I focus on body positioning, defensive footwork, 1v1 defending technique, timing in tackles, and recovery mechanics. For midfielders, we emphasize scanning habits, first touch under pressure, passing accuracy, and quick decision-making.

In a 1-on-1 setting, I simulate game pressure through controlled repetitions — including live 1v1 duels, reaction drills, passing under time constraints, and situational scenarios that force quick decisions. The goal is to develop habits that transfer directly into real match situations.

Each session ends with feedback and specific improvement points so the athlete knows exactly what to focus on before the next training.
