More About Coach Benjamin

Current Graduate Assistant Men’s Coach at Syracuse University
Emphasis on CHARACTER & SKILL DEVELOPMENT
I have six years of basketball coaching/training experience. Prior to my current position, I was a D2 assistant coach at Post University (Waterbury, CT) for one season. I was a four-year manager with the SU men’s team as an undergraduate student, and during my time, have worked with high level student-athletes who have gone on to play professionally in the NBA and other professional leagues across the world. Additionally, I also served as the head coach (3 years) of the Syracuse University’s club basketball team. I have trained youth athletes from many different towns surrounding the Hartford, CT area. Other experiences I have include working camps and youth basketball events across the country. Some of those events include working with companies/programs such as: Philadelphia 76ers, Hoop Group, UConn, Providence, Boston College, Eastern CT, Wins 4 Life, IMG Academy (FL), Le Moyne College, USA Youth basketball and Rhode Island College. These age groups consisted of 8-18 years old for both male/female and I have personally coached over 250 kids. I have always found at least one kid at every camp that wanted to improve on a skill during free time, and the improvement they made throughout the week was extremely rewarding for both of us!

I graduated in May 2017 from Syracuse University with a M.S degree in sport management. I served as a manager and head manger throughout my 4 years as an undergraduate student. I played several sports during my time at Hall High School, located in West Hartford, CT.

I will bring energy, encouragement and positivity to each kid and instill confidence in them! Every player receives a print out of our session and a motivational packet that we will discuss the second session. I have learned from some of the best basketball minds and am excited to share my knowledge with as many people as possible! I want to work with kids that will take what they learn from our session and work on their game until we meet again. Consistency is extremely important in order get better and I hope to motivate my clients beyond our time together.

First, I want to know the goals of the player/parent and what they want to work on. For example, they may want to work on dribbling, shooting and passing. I will construct the session so all of those skills are addressed and even combine all three if the ability is there. After the session, feedback is important to make sure the client has the best experience possible.

My daughter met with Coach Benjamin for some skills type training and we were extremely satisfied with the manner he instructed her, and his patience in fine tuning those skills. I definitely would recommend everyone / anyone to meet with Coach Benjamin for his assistance in making your athlete better !!!!

My son loved working with Coach Benjamin! Would most definitely recommend him to anyone wanting to improve their game!

I highly recommend Coach Ben!! He is truly a student of the game and loves to share his knowledge with others. During a session with Coach Ben, you son/daughter will learn specific, game transferable drills, to improve their game and take it to the next level! Moreover, Coach Ben is one of the best people I have ever met and will teach life skills that will carry with your kid long after their playing career.
