Hi Everyone! My name is Ben and I am an extremely passion Basketball Coach who has been coaching Basketball for 12 years in both the United Kingdom and United States. In the UK I ran a basketball club, coaching all ages and levels, at the College level as a skill development and team coach at the University of Hertfordshire, as well as working in the National Team Player Development Pathway. Alongside all of this I trained athletes in 1-on-1 sessions all across my local area. In the US, I worked as a Student Manager/Graduate Assistant at Ohio University to continue my coach development, assisting in workouts and team practices for 2 years whilst developing my coaching through completing a Master’s Degree in Coaching Educations. Alongside my Undergraduate and Master’s Degrees in Coaching, I am a Basketball England Level 3 Qualified Coach. I am extremely excited to be in Erie to continue my coaching as an Assistant Coach at Erie Prep Academy and to work with players in the local area to develop their skills and prepare them to take the next steps in the basketball careers!

As an athlete I was captain of all of my youth team and voted defensive player of the year 2 times whilst playing National League with my local team, as well as winning coaches player and our clubman of the year award across my many years playing. I also played at university for 1 season before moving into my coaching role there, as well as continuing to play men’s basketball in our local league.

Sessions will be completely tailored towards the wants and needs of the athlete, with a workout plan being developed for the athlete to use in their own time. Workouts will include technical skill development as well as the ability to apply these skills in 1v1 and game settings to improve performance and application of skills in all situations. Drills and activities will be designed to challenge the athletes and put them in conditioned environments to use and apply the skills being worked on, so the athlete understands the how, when, and WHY to use each skill.
