2022-Current: Bunker Hill Community College Assistant Coach: works with outfielders, infielders, catchers. Works with hitters on batting approach, pitch recognition.

2012-Current: Youth Baseball instructor 8U-18U. Here to grow the game, it's my goal for kids to play baseball until they decide they're done! I believe there's a team out there for everyone. From travel ball caliber players to the kid in little league afraid to swing the bat, I'm here to help kids find joy in the game. Learning and developing in this game is NOT a grind, it should be fun! Believe me, the grind is coming but for kids 8-14, they can compete and play hard but they should find joy in the game first! Playing the game well and right, kids will find joy and hopefully be lifetime baseball fans!

I am a product of 2 older brothers and a Dad for a Coach. I've had a baseball in my hands since day 1! Haha. But seriously, I've played baseball my whole life. I went through all the biddy baseball leagues with all my peers, but meanwhile I was a full practice participant in my older brothers baseball team practices with kids at least 3 years older than me. I continued playing into college before hanging it up in pursuit of other interests, mostly just being a lazy 20 something... My athletic contributions weren't heavy on the field, I was a great teammate, a practice legend and someone who soaked up as much knowledge that I could. I've always had higher aspirations as a Coach than I had as a player, when I was 13 I wrote a goals letter to my future self stating how I wanted to be a minor league coach after my college career ended... In High School a teacher asked how many kids I would like and I answered "9, to have a full baseball team" and I think in my heart I just meant I wanted to Coach.

Typical Session: Warm-up jog, calisthenics, stretching, band-work, catch, long-toss.

Depending on needs from there, but batting instruction would include a variety of drills to work on getting their swing working better for them. Soft toss, front toss, tee work, batting practice as general work outs. Using video analysis, I will diagnose your players swing and use it for them to see what they're doing and get them on the right swing plan for them! Everyone in MLB has a different swing so I embrace what is comfortable to your player within a basic guideline of batting mechanics.

For Fielding work I will be using a variety of common fielding drills depending on the position. Fielding work essentially is going to be heavy heavy heavy repetitions, how to make it easier on you to field the ball AND make a good throw. There are ways to move to make your life easier on the field and we're going to work on them!

Mental Game: The mental game isn't worked on early enough! Having a plan and an approach will almost always produce results. I believe in playing the game with a "next pitch" approach. A next pitch approach means you clear your head of the previous play, good or bad and do your best to focus on winning the next pitch.

Client Reviews

Coach Ben is the real deal. I've only played under him for one season and I've already seen tremendous results. He always makes extra time to help me with my fielding, batting, and throwing. I don't think I'd be able to make this much progress without him. If there was ever a cheat code in coaching, it would definitely be Coach Ben.
