More About Coach Austin
I have been giving private instruction now for almost 10 years. I retired from playing professionally in 2016, and now own a youth baseball organization and give private lessons full-time. My mentor and ex college coach was the Double-A hitting coach for the Texas Rangers (Frisco RoughRiders). He's worked with Elvis Andrus, Roughed Odor, Michael Young before he retired, Josh Hamilton, Joey Gallo, Mitch Moreland along with many other Texas Rangers. He is now the hitting coach for Oklahoma State University.
I am passing that information and philosophy onto young kids. So you can rest assured your child will be getting the BEST quality instruction available. I am a lifetime .345 hitter in professional baseball, and I take pride in seeing all my athletes find success and grow a love for the game.
I differ from most other instructors out there, in that I MAKE IT A POINT to come watch some of your childs' games. I take pride in going above and beyond what any other instructor will, in order to see your athlete progress. I will travel free of charge, to come watch him/her in game action.
I was a 2-time All-State selection in high school at Kennedale High School, played 4 years of collegiate baseball at Baylor University and the University of Texas at Tyler, receiving All-Conference honors each year. I have also played 6 years of Independent Professional Baseball, including local teams like the Grand Prairie AirHogs, San Angelo Colts, and Ft. Worth Cats. I finished my career in 2016 with the Florence Freedom (Cincinnati, OH) earning Team MVP honors and All-Star Game accolades.
A typical session will last around 1 hour. We will start with the basics and build the athlete's mechanics from the ground up. Specific drills will be used and implemented depending how the athlete progresses. I also strongly implement the mental side of the game, staying positive and being confident. Video Analysis will also be used to help the athlete look at his own mechanics in slow motion. I love to see kids improve, and once they see some success they grow a fire in their heart for baseball, a fire that will last a lifetime.

Austin has worked with our 10 year old son twice now and we couldn't be more pleased with the results!! Austin takes the time to explain things and break down my sons swing so he can understand it. After the first lesson we were already getting compliments on how much better his swing was from his team coaches! We highly recommend Austin to anyone looking to improve their game!!

He was great with our boys. We had a group of three 10 year olds who have shown significant improvement. We would definitely recommend him.

Great! After one session my 10 Year old athlete has much more confidence at the plate and his swing is starting to get dialed in. Thanks Austin.

Coach Austin is by far the best coach I've met. He has the ability to point out the opportunities and correct them in a positive manner. My son is 100% more confident after his first session.

My 8 year old son had a great first session with Coach Austin! Austin taught him the basic mechanics of how to be a better hitter! My son is excited & looking forward to training with Coach Austin again!

Coach Austin did an outstanding job with my son in his very first session. Broke everything down in a way a 10 year old (and I) can understand. I've attended several coaching clinics, but Coach Austin's explanation of the mechanics was best I've ever heard. We will definitely utilize him again.

A very positive and encouraging coach for our young (4yr old) son just starting baseball. As parents we were very impressed. We will continue lessons. Highly recommend this coach.

Austin has been great with my son. instructive, patient and engaged. he reinforces learning by making my son explain what he does right or wrong. Beyond the skills training he talks a lot about the mental attitude that an athlete must carry. My son enjoys going to his lessons w/ Austin
Chris Robertson (Testimonial)
After struggling at the plate his first few at bats, Colton listened to what you said, and hit a home run his next at bat! He said "I just kept thinking about what Coach Austin told me". Thanks for the helpful advice!
