More About Coach Austin

I am currently working as an associate scout for one of the MLB area scouts, and know exactly what the top MLB scouts are looking for. I can train you in a way that will make you stand out to college and pro scouts. I am a veteran at video analysis and was taught how to do so by College World Series pitching coach, Nathan Choate.

I played at two Top 25 Division 1 universities, as well as was coached under major league world series pitcher Rob Dibble. I was a 6'6" left handed pitcher so I know just how important repeatable mechanics can be to be a successful pitcher. One of the main things scouts look for are repeatable mechanics as well as fluidity/easiness of arm action. With some simple mechanical adjustments I went from topping out at 85mph as a sophomore at Harvard Westlake highschool, to touching 95 at the D1 level.

First session I will simply watch you play catch, talk to you about what you think your weaknesses are, what you want to accomplish, and take a video of your mechanics so I can slow them down and evaluate them at home. Before we start throwing I will take you through an array of dynamic arm and body exercises, I'm sure some that you've never seen before. If there was one thing I hated as a pitcher was to be excepted to warm up in 5 minutes and start throwing off the mound for drills at practice. This is horrible for your arm and you need to warm up the smaller muscles before you start throwing with power.
