More About Coach Ara
I am currently the head coach of the boys Arlington Junior Varisty Boys soccer team, as well as a private instructor since October of 2023. I work with kids of all ages, ranging from as young as 8 to players trying to compete for high school rosters. Having the honor and privilege to coach a team this past fall was a tremendous learning experience for me, and getting to work with middle schoolers and high schoolers throughout that time period was unforgettable.
Play for a division 2 men’s league team throughout the spring and fall, played for Winchester High School, Abbey Villa and SFC. I was offered to play Division 3 at Regis College, instead I chose to focus on my academics for a year before returning a year later playing for Homenetmen FC, a division 2 men’s league team in the Mass Adult Soccer league. I played for Winchester High School from 2018-2022, and first joined a local club by the name of SFC in 2016 before transferring to Abbey Villa in the fall of 2018
Individual training involving footwork, shooting, passing, touches, and improving stamina. Specific drills including cone drills that focus primarily on tight touches with both feet, as well we being able to finish properly with both feet at an elite level. Juggling and other ball handling drills that help boost the confidence of a player when the ball is on their feet in game, and most importantly making the right decisions, constantly simulating in game situations and testing them out, and not being finished or satisfied until every small mistake is fixed and the player feels satisfied.
