Anthony Markle

I have 15 years of coaching experience from Little League, High School and Professional levels. I began my coaching career in Williamsport, PA at the Little League World Series Summer Camp. I was a Team Manager and Head Catching Instructor for the camp. I had 24/7 care of my 8-12 year old teams on a daily basis. I also created all of the catching programs and worked individually and on a group basis. I then relocated to Clearwater Florida where I have coached numerous little league teams including our league All-Star team. Recently I have moved on to Coach higher levels with Florida Burn Travel baseball and Calvary Christian High School in Clearwater. My professional experience includes working alongside the Bullpen Coach as a bullpen catcher with the Philadelphia Phillies Organization.

I played 4 years of varsity baseball for Williamsport Area High School in Williamsport, PA. I then moved on to Allegany College of Maryland for two seasons and played in the Junior College World Series in Millington, TN. After those two seasons I played one year of Independent professional baseball winning a GBL Championship with Yuma Scorpions in Arizona.

Each client will receive a first time evaluation to measure current skills and knowledge. This will include a running, throwing, hitting and pitching evaluation. Once the evaluation is completed a comprehensive plan will be created to match the skill level of the player.

Each session will begin with a stretching routine that will show the kids how to properly prepare their bodies for competition. This includes light running for warm up, static stretches, walking stretches and some explosive movements to finish.

Each aspect of the game will get broken down into proper mechanics.

Throwing:
- Understanding the grip of the baseball - using the four seam grip.
- How to properly flick the wrist to get maximum backspin and velocity on the baseball.
- Showing proper shoulder turn and getting squared up to your target.
- Throwing footwork, stepping and moving toward your target.
- Follow through, continuing movement toward target after release

Fielding:
- Approach and and set up before the pitch
- Stance and setup technique for ground balls. Feet apart, butt down, hands down, and head up to the ball.
- Moving forward, left and right to properly get body in front of the baseball
- Backhand techniques.
- Bringing ball into stomach to transition into the throw.
- Footwork and mechanics of the throw.
- Outfield fly ball technique

Hitting :
- Stance and proper set up
- Proper loading techniques to prepare for the pitch
- Executing the start of the swing with the backside and getting the front side down.
- Swinging throw the baseball to a full finish and follow through.
- Bunting

Game situations and knowledge will also be covered where able and necessary. Each session will be planned out to cover each aspect as through as possible until the player is comfortable. As the player progresses new drills and training will be implemented to continue their progression and development.
