In our initial lesson, we delve into the critical aspect of identifying your "why." This involves pinpointing your basketball goals and the reasons driving your desire to play. Together, we embark on a journey to assess your current skill level, recognizing your strengths and pinpointing areas for improvement. Each lesson is thoughtfully structured, with half of our time devoted to nurturing and expanding your strengths, while the remaining portion is dedicated to addressing areas in need of improvement, ultimately bolstering your self-assurance and facilitating the realization of your objectives.

Areas of Focus:

1. Shooting: Master the art of shooting, honing accuracy, and consistency through targeted drills and techniques.
2. Dribbling: Develop your dribbling skills, enabling better ball control and maneuverability on the court.
3. Finishing: Enhance your ability to finish plays near the basket with finesse and precision.
4. Defense: Learn defensive strategies and techniques to become a formidable presence on the court.
5. Athleticism & Fitness: Improve your physical conditioning and basketball-specific athleticism to excel in the game.
6. Basketball IQ: Elevate your understanding of the game's nuances, enabling better decision-making and strategic play.

By focusing on these specific areas of development within each lesson, we will work together to unlock your full potential and take significant strides toward achieving your basketball aspirations.

My drills come from a variety of sources. Many have been passed down from AAU and high school coaches, who were instrumental in my growth and success as a player. Other drills and techniques are pulled from Youtube videos, VHS tapes, and books produced by players and coaches at both the college and NBA level.

Here are some great books from which I have drawn philosophical inspiration from and skill building strategies:

1. "Sacred Hoops: Spiritual Lessons of a Hardwood Warrior" by Phil Jackson - Written by the legendary NBA coach, this book explores the philosophy and psychology of coaching and playing basketball at the highest level.

2. "Basketball Anatomy" by Brian J. Cole and Rob Panariello - Offers a detailed look at the anatomy of basketball movements and provides insights into injury prevention and performance enhancement.

3. "Basketball on Paper" by Dean Oliver - Explores the advanced statistics and analytics behind basketball, providing a deep understanding of the game's quantitative aspects.
