More About Coach Amabel

I have coached Beginner, Intermediate, and Advanced students, and am prepared to work with players of all levels. I worked as a coach on campus at University of Michigan, and at a club in Farmington Hills, MI. I have taught adults and children, and can work with all age groups.

I won the Division III State Championship in Michigan playing Singles in 2009, 2010, and 2011. I was captain of my varsity tennis team in 2012. In USTA juniors, I was consistently ranked top 10 in Southeast Michigan and top 30 in the Midwest. Once I turned 18, I attended University of Michigan for college and joined their Club Tennis team, where I competed in singles and doubles, attending regional and national tournaments regularly. Currently, I am playing for Michigan State's club tennis team. I am the team's primary singles player, and I competed at the Regional tournament in Madison, Wisconsin, this past February.

My sessions are usually 1 hour long. What I focus on depends on what the student wants to work on, as well as his/her skill level. If the student is advanced, I usually play against them and stop periodically to give them tips. If they are a beginner, I have a lot of drills for working on developing forehands, backhands, and serves, as well as working on point play.
