More About Coach Alisha

For the past 6 years I have been a high school coach and have also run my own summer ball team. During this time I have been a full time private instructor, providing 1-on-1 lessons and group lessons. I focus on breaking down offensive and defensive fundamentals in order to provide athletes with the necessary tools to become a better version of themselves. Over the past 6 years, I have run camps and skills clinics for all ages. Aside from coaching softball, I am also a Mental Toughness Coach. I work with all athletes to help them improve their mental toughness and work on the mental aspect of their game.

Prior to coaching, I was a four year starter at Carmel High School where I played primarily 3rd base and short stop. After completing my high school career I went on to play Division 1 softball at Chipola Junior College. I was the starting 3rd baseman prior to having my rotator cuff repaired. I went through rehab, taught myself how to throw left-handed, and had another surgery on my should before transferring to the University of Dayton where I finished my career as a College athlete.

Unfortunately, due to injury my athletic achievements are far less than they should be. The majority of my career was spent on the field and then in therapy. While I do not have many awards to show for my athletic achievements, I have much more and that is personal achievements. I overcame two shoulder surgeries and returned to playing at the Division 1 level. I taught myself how to throw left-handed and was successful at playing this way until I fully recovered from surgery. My injury and my experience has made me into the coach I am today and I am truly blessed.

Typically I begin each session by listening to what the individual is hoping to gain from working with me as a coach or instructor. I want to determine what my clients want/need and where they believe they are. From here I observe prior to any instruction. This allows me to see the fundamentals and determine if there are minor tweeks that need to be done, or if I need to take a different angle. This is all dependent upon what my clients are coming to me for. I am extremely hands on and will demonstrate anything and everything for my clients. I start with mechanics and end with mechanics. Sometimes my clients will not even touch a bat or glove until we have successfully completed other necessary skills.

Client Reviews

Coach Alisha was great! It's obvious she knows her stuff. My daughter was a little apprehensive at first but Alisha put her at ease right away. They had a lot of fun in that hour. I highly recommend Coach Alisha - she's friendly, accommodating, and is a great teacher.

Coach Alisha recognized my daughters swing flaws right away. She immediately attacked those flaws with tee work. In her first game after the initial lesson she was more confident at the plate, resulting in harder hit balls.
I would recommend Alisha!

Coach Alisha worked well with my daughter. She jumped right in and worked with her effectively in a way she could begin applying what she learned right away.

Coach Alisha was great with my daughter. She addressed the issues in a way that was easily understood. Looking forward to the next lesson.
