More About Coach Alexis

I am currently the Missouri Baptist Women's Soccer Assistant Coach. I have been coaching at MBU for 3 years now and will be entering my 4th season. I also coach for the AFA Fillies Soccer Club and have trained for Lou Fusz Soccer Club. Within the AFA Fillies, I coach their 02's and train teams throughout the club when needed. With Lou Fusz, I trained individual teams as well as coached within their summer academy. I am currently the assistant girls varsity soccer coach at St. Charles High School where I helped aid the team to a history making 2nd place finish in state and have also coached high school ball at Ritenour High School and St. Charles Lutheran High. In the past, I worked for Soccer Shots where I coached kids between the ages of 3-12, on the basics of the game of soccer. I currently hold a MYSA coaching certification and plan on continuing my coaching education.

I started playing club soccer at the age of 9 for JB Marine Soccer Club. From there, I played for Iron Kids and then went on to the St. Louis Cougars. The Cougars were #2 in the state of Missouri, and we played underneath the guidance of head coach, Daryl Doran. I played 4 years of varsity soccer at Francis Howell Central High School and was a captain my senior year. From high school ball, I went to play at St. Charles Community College where I was given the privilege to play on the inaugural team of the college. I was captain both years at SCC and was named 1st team all conference both years as well as Player of the Year my freshman year. My team won regionals our second years as a program and I was nominated All American for my career at SCC. After SCC, I was given a scholarship to attend Missouri Baptist University and play for their Women's Soccer Program. I was a 2 year starter for MBU and now coach for their women's soccer team.

I focus on the basic fundamentals of soccer and then build up to more complex skills. I typically begin with a good warm up and allow the athlete to get as many touches on the ball as possible. I then have the athlete focus on specific skills that they seem to struggle with and needs to improve upon. I tend to focus on both physical and fundamental capabilities, therefore speed and agility will take place within each session. Towards the end of the session, all skills and fundamentals learned within the session will be integrated and applied.

First impression is great. The issue more or less was my daughter having a moment! But she is excited to continue and has been practicing her foot square, triangle, and rolls every day and is excited to show her coach her progress.

Coach Lexi has been amazing with my daughter! Emily is a beginner who needed to get caught up on the basics. She loves going and working with them. Her confidence is also up. She is given suggestions and things to work on at home. Even modified suggestions because we have a little yard! It has been awesome to see Emily grow and do something she loves. Coach Lexi is great! I brought my daughters to her to get the softball fundamentals down. They're both completely new to the game, so they need some help. She started off testing what they know, and went from there. I saw huge improvement in their skill and in their confidence in just one session.

The coaches attitudes were fantastic, they are very knowledgeable in their areas of expertise, they were professional, and most of all my daughter LOVED IT but worked her tail off! Aubrey made the decision to keep training with these two ladies before we made it to the car! I look forward to seeing the progress my daughter has after more training sessions!! P.S.-- they had her hitting a practice golf ball with a sweet stick which is about the size of a broomstick!! I was very please!!
