More About Coach Alex
I have coached at the youth soccer level for 6 years for Charlotte Soccer Academy. I coached at the ECNL and Development Academy levels both male and female from ages 10-18. I was a goalkeeper director and a coached one season at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte as their goalkeeper coach. I currently hold a USSF B License that I obtained in October 2019. I am currently a graduate student at the University of Western States getting my M.S. in Sport and Performance Psychology. I will be graduating in June 2022. I currently coach with a few athletes on a weekly basis.
I competed as a goalkeeper at the NCAA D1 level at Creighton University from 2011-14. We reached the College Cup in 2011 and 2012, and I served as a captain for two years.
An athlete or performer can expect a session tailored to their needs and their position. The ultimate goal for any session is to give the athlete a toolbox of cognitive techniques that he or she can use to help achieve peak performance. I have a 10-step curriculum that balances scientific-based evidence of Olympians and professionals with the unique demands of the individual. I train the athlete to perform at the maximum motor skill capacity with less thought and find a natural flow when competing. Some examples of the skills include imagery training, mental toughness training, managing energy levels, and improving focus. It is a one hour session with a worksheet for the athlete to use outside of our session to continue to train his or her cognitive skills.
