More About Coach Afriye

Born and raised in Denver, CO, coach Afriye Phillips grew up with dreams of playing in the NBA. After being told he was too small to play in college, coach Phillips kept working on his game and, as a result, made the development team of the Dallas Mavericks.

After playing down in Dallas, coach Phillips knew that his life had to be focused on giving back instead of only receiving for himself. As a result, he created Hoops Academy, a revolutionary basketball personal training company that aims to give elite level basketball training at an affordable price while also providing tutoring services to each athlete.

Every child has a dream growing up. Whether that dream is becoming a doctor or a lawyer or a professional sports player or a dancer or an artist, every child has a dream. My dreams were shut down. But I proved them wrong. I lived out my dream of playing professional basketball and now I am living out my dream of coaching.

-First session will be an assessment (e.g. ball handling, shooting, agility, and conditioning drills)
-From there I will come up with a personalized workout plan that will focus on improving your weaknesses while also highlighting your strengths
