More About Coach Adrian
I bring over 8 years of experience coaching track and field athletes, including more than 5 years as a Head Coach at the collegiate level. Most recently, I led the Track & Field and Cross Country programs at Emmanuel University (NCAA Division II), where I oversaw all aspects of the program—from recruitment and training to budgeting and compliance. During my tenure, I coached 6 All-Americans, multiple conference champions, All-Region performers, and U20 All-Americans, elevating the program to new competitive heights and securing multiple team appearances at the regional level.
My coaching experience spans sprints, distance, throws, jumps, and multi-events, with a strong focus on individualized technical development, athlete mentorship, and leadership cultivation. I primarily work with college-aged student-athletes, though my recruiting and development pipeline includes high school seniors and youth-level prospects as well. My holistic approach integrates athletic performance, academic accountability, strength and conditioning, and nutritional education—contributing to a 90% athlete graduation rate.
In addition to on-track success, I’ve effectively managed teams of assistant coaches, coordinated travel and logistics, maintained full NCAA compliance, and handled a program budget exceeding $100,000. I also increased recruitment success by 30% and boosted alumni and donor engagement by 15% through outreach and media efforts.
I’m a former NCAA DII National Champion and team captain at Tiffin University, holding a BBA and continuously expanding my expertise through coaching clinics and leadership development programs. My mission is to build not just elite athletes, but disciplined, resilient individuals prepared to lead both on and off the track.
I competed at the collegiate level in three sports: Track & Field, Basketball, and Football while attending Tiffin University, an NCAA Division II institution. My primary focus and greatest success came in Track & Field, where I was a 2nd Team All-GLIAC selection in the high jump and ultimately became a Men’s NCAA Division II National Champion. These honors reflect both individual athletic achievement and a commitment to competing at the highest level within my division.
In addition to my athletic accolades, I was recognized for my academic performance as an All-Academic GLIAC honoree, balancing the demands of three sports with rigorous academic standards. My experience across multiple sports has given me a broad athletic perspective, a deep understanding of teamwork, and a strong foundation in multi-sport training and athlete development.
This well-rounded athletic background not only shapes my coaching philosophy but also allows me to connect with athletes from diverse sporting backgrounds and help them maximize their potential both on and off the field.
Clients can expect a focused, structured, and high-energy session grounded in proven athletic training principles and shaped by my experience coaching 6 All-Americans, U20 All-Americans, conference champions, and NCAA regional teams. As a former collegiate multi-sport athlete (Track & Field, Basketball, and Football) I bring a deep understanding of what it takes to perform at a high level—both physically and mentally.
A Typical Session With Me:
General Warm-Up (5–10 mins)
We begin with a light aerobic warm-up—jogging, jump rope, or mobility drills—to increase heart rate and blood flow to major muscle groups.
Stretching & Dynamic Warm-Up (10–15 mins)
Static and dynamic stretching helps prepare the muscles and joints for movement. We then move into dynamic movements like high knees, butt kicks, A-skips, and leg swings to activate key muscle groups used in your event or sport.
Explosive Drills (10 mins)
Plyometrics such as bounding, skips for height/distance, or medicine ball throws are introduced to prime the neuromuscular system for the demands of the main session. These drills help develop speed, power, and explosiveness—critical for track and field events, football positions, or multi-sport athleticism.
Event-Specific Drills (15–20 mins)
We transition into technical work tailored to your goals. For sprinters, that may include block starts or acceleration mechanics; for jumpers, approach drills and takeoff positioning; for football athletes, position-specific footwork or agility training. Every drill builds toward the main event or training objective of the day.
Hydration Breaks & Core Integration
Hydration is emphasized throughout. Between reps, we incorporate core strengthening exercises like planks, Russian twists, or medicine ball throws to enhance stability, posture, and injury prevention.
Main Event (20–30 mins)
This is the focal point of the session—whether it’s sprint reps, jump technique work, speed endurance, or resistance-based drills. Intensity is high, but reps and volume are tailored based on the athlete’s training phase and individual readiness.
Cool Down & Recovery (10 mins)
We close with a light jog or walk, followed by deep static stretching to help muscles relax and reduce soreness. Final hydration is emphasized to support recovery.
