More About Coach Abdul

I have experience coaching and training soccer athletes at multiple developmental levels, drawing from my background as a professional player in Ghana and an NCAA Division I collegiate athlete in the United States. My coaching approach emphasizes technical development, tactical understanding, physical conditioning, and mental discipline.

I have worked with youth and developing players, primarily focusing on grassroots and academy-level athletes, where I assist with skill development, positional training, and game preparation. My experience includes conducting individual training sessions, small-group drills, and team-based practices designed to improve technical proficiency, fitness, and overall performance.

I typically work with youth and young adult athletes, ranging from early teens through college-age players, tailoring training methods to the athlete’s developmental stage and competitive level.

While I do not currently hold formal industry coaching certifications, my training methodology is informed by firsthand experience competing and training in professional football environments in Ghana and within NCAA Division I programs in the United States. I continue to build my coaching knowledge through mentorship, observation, and ongoing involvement in competitive soccer environments.

I began my soccer career competing at the professional level in my home country, Ghana, where I played organized, high-level competitive football prior to relocating to the United States. Competing in Ghana provided me with extensive experience in a professional football environment that emphasized discipline, tactical awareness, and high physical demands.

After moving to the United States, I advanced to the collegiate level, competing in NCAA Division I men’s soccer. I played at Gardner-Webb University and later at Jacksonville University, where I competed against top Division I programs and athletes nationwide. Participating at this level further developed my technical abilities, game intelligence, leadership skills, and adaptability to different styles of play.

Throughout my career, I have consistently demonstrated commitment, professionalism, and competitive excellence, earning recognition through selection to competitive squads and the opportunity to compete at both the professional and Division I collegiate levels.

Clients can expect structured, high-intensity, and personalized soccer training sessions focused on technical development, game intelligence, and conditioning. Each session begins with a dynamic warm-up and mobility work, followed by ball mastery, first touch, passing, dribbling under pressure, and finishing drills performed at game speed.

Training also includes position-specific and tactical work to improve decision-making, movement, and understanding of match situations. Sessions often finish with conditioning through small-sided games or high-intensity drills, combining fitness with realism.

I focus on developing complete athletes—technically sharp, tactically aware, physically prepared, and mentally confident—drawing from my experience as a professional player in Ghana and an NCAA Division I athlete in the United States.
