More About Coach Aaron

My entire life, I've been in love with the game but my senior year at Marymount University is when I fell in love with teaching the game. I have trained as young as 5 years old, to D1 players (example: Melo Trimble) all the way to professional players who play overseas (example: Jason Clark) and NBA players such as Greg Monroe and Henry Simms. I have been fortunate to train with one of the biggest trainers, Johnny from Handlelife at The Palace of Auburn Hills (Detriot Pistons Arena) two times this year! I also train Marymount University players on a weekly basis.

Marymount University (College):
- 3 year starter
- 2 year captain
- 2 year winner of the "Coaches Award"

Jericho Christian Academy (High School)
- 4 years on Varsity
- 2 Year Captain
- Played under Reggie Williams. Reggie Williams played at Georgetown and 10 years in the NBA

I typically start with a couple minutes of stationary ball handling to get them warmed up. I then move to moves on the go and attacking the basket with different finishes (jump stop, euro step, floaters, etc). Followed by shooting drills, both on and off the dribble. In between previous things that I have stated, I add rebound and defensive drills as well.

I'm a HUGE believer in not just showing the game but teaching the game. So I explain every drill in great detail. I explain why/when a particular move could be used. I also am a HUGE believer in that the skills taught in basketball can be used on AND off the court. So I make sure to always remind my players about how important teamwork, communication, and a hard work ethic can take them a long way!

Client Reviews

Aaron was great. My son learned a ton with just the one session he has had. Looking forward to more!

My son loved playing with Coach Aaron!

My son has good basic ball handling and shooting skills. After on class with Aaron, his mechanics have already improved. Coach Aaron had a mix of shooting, ball handling, and some conditioning. My son got the best workout he ever had since he started playing basketball.

What was really great was that coach really taught to his skill level and challenged him in areas he needed to improve upon. Also, unlike other trainings where they focus on how to dribble, handle, shoot as individual skills; coach really put together all the skills into actual gameplay situations. Basically he had our son think through that if you drive a certain way and the defender counters, what would you do next to get by the counter....how would you use what you know to drive to the hoop or get a more open shot. Good practical skills that I know will help him in his game play.

He is looking forward to more classes with Aaron. He is really nice guy with great skills himself and looks to be having fun coaching which is a huge plus.

Thanks Coach!!

Coach Aaron is AWESOME!!! From the very first handshake I knew my son was in great hands. My son is 8 years old and needed help with direction and confidence on the court, he's had several sessions with Coach Aaron and there is no question his performance has improved. Coach Aaron has such a warm, positive, and encouraging attitude - my son was immediately at ease with him and pumped about getting better! Coach Aaron is super patient with my son but also very efficient with the time they have together. My son is very excited about continuing to train with Coach Aaron in the years ahead, and I am excited to get my younger son working with him when he's old enough. I cannot recommend Coach Aaron enough - he's wonderful!

Great coach. Very enthusiastic and dedicated to making me better.

Coach Aaron is a real life mentor. His positive philosophy and approach to learning was evident from the very first session with my son Daniel. He has pushed Daniel to levels beyond anything we believed he was capable of. Daniel has taken to heart the lessons Coach Aaron gives during workouts, to never quit, to apply them to his life as well, it has really shown in a positive attitude and how he approaches personal challenges, in his sports activities, personal conditioning and towards his schoolwork. We would highly recommend Coach Aaron to any parent wanting their son or daughter to improve their basketball skills, raise the level of their athletic performance and help give their children a foundation to lead more self-confident, healthy lives. ” – Michael Ross
