Q

"Do you have to be flexible to do yoga?"

A
Hi Gabriel - great question! I get this one all the time :) You do not have to be flexible at all to do yoga - this is fortunate because when I took my first yoga class I couldn't touch my toes! The practice of yoga works to improve things like functional body strength, attention and focus, stress management, and yes - flexibility. It is important to incorporate stretching into your work outs to help protect against injury, and also get the added benefit of making you stronger! The practice of yoga incorporates muscle lengthening and strengthening moves - perfect to help improve range of motion for anybody regardless of their current level of flexibility!
