The difference between the two pitches, 4 seam fastball generally produces a higher velocity and continues on a straighter path towards home plate. The 2 seamer depending on the pressure you apply on the seams with either finger gives the pitch the ability to have more movement. The 2 seam demands more attention to perfecting because its more difficult to command.
