More About Coach Young Charles

I have been coaching since 2000. I couched my first Lowell golden gloves middleweight champion and my first Fall River heavyweight champion in 2003, also in that year I coached the 2003 N.A.A.U. middleweight champion. In 2003 Mickey Ward, and I trained and coached (Team New England) that went to London England that year on a eight day boxing tour. I have trained many M.M.A. fighters as well when I was a coach at Wai-Kru South Shore, 2012-13. I coached at Fit-by-Noel in the Brockton Mall 2011-2012.

As a amateur boxer, I was a three time Lowell Golden Gloves Heavyweight championship in 1975-1977. I also was a two time Lowell Golden gloves Tournament of Champions winner, 1976-1977. Also a two time Rocky Marciano award winner, 1976-1977. My amateur boxing record was 64 fights, 58 Wins, 48Ko's, 6 loses. I also spent a week in Muhammad Ali's camp in Miami Florida in 1976 while I was competing in the 1976 A.A.U. National boxing Tournament. My professional record was 5&2, I was managed by the late World Heavyweight Champion Joe Frazier in Philadelphia 1979-1980.

Warm-up learning boxing techniques in punching and defense. Drilling in punches and foot work. Jumping rope, hitting the speed-bag, and heavy-bag. Ending with a warm-down.
