Currently I work for Barça Academy in Matthews, NC. I am the head coach for the U10 & U11 Boys, and the U15 girls.

I played semi-professional in the Netherlands for several years. I made my debut for the 1st team of svDSO at 17 years old. That year I earned the award for talent of the seaon. Unfortunately I decided to stop playing after multiple long ankle injuries.

My sessions are focused on the technical side of the game (coerver method). I create a safe envirement for the player to grow in confidence and encourage the player to show creativity in his/her decision making. I will put the player in game like situations where you can apply the skills we have been working on to prepare you for your games.

I have a calm personality. But on the field I will be energetic to get the most out of you with constructive feedback.

* I believe in growth mindset. This means I believe that everything is trainable.

* I will add differential learning to the practice overtime. To get the player ready for different circumstances within games

Excellent ball mastery session for our boys (13 and 11). Top notch.

Wessel ran my daughter through a number of ball and cone drills and provided detailed instruction and feedback. That continued through the shooting portion of my daughter’s first session. I would highly recommend Wessel and we hope to book with him again soon!

Wessel really knows what he is doing from a technical point of view and is able to easily recognize strengths and weaknesses and address each during training. Also very positive in general. I would highly recommend to anyone who is serious about improving.

Outstanding first session

Coach Wessel understood on what my daughter was looking for and he came up with a plan on those areas/skills. He incorporated game like scenarios during practice. He also took time to explain different options for those scenarios. My daughter like his way of coaching and she thought it was very helpful.
