More About Coach Wayne

With a Bachelor's Degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology from West Virginia University And a Masters degree in Counseling with a specialization in Sport Psychology from Boston University Wayne Works with Athletes of all levels on improving their mental game. While in the program at BU Wayne spent time working with a range of collegiate athletes from Basketball and Soccer to Diving and Cross country. It was alongside those athletic teams that he gained the experience in helping athletes to improve their mental toughness. Wayne Currently works as a Mental Conditioning Coordinator helping athletes and performers develop skills to improve their mental game. Wayne's work focuses on Helping athletes build Confidence, develop composure, and strengthen concentration.

My Athletic highlights are not your typical highlights. My athletic highlights put me on the path to working in the field of Sport Psychology. I played multiple sports growing up but would go on to put my focus into Football and Lacrosse. I had hopes of playing collegiate level lacrosse but struggled to handle the pressures and expectations. I was unable to manage the Stress and anxiety and fell out of love with the sport. This would start me on the path to help athletes navigate these same challenges.
High School Lacrosse

The work is Focused on two objectives. The first, giving athletes the exposure and direction to build their own mental skills. These are skills like Confidence Goal setting, Self-talk, Imagery, Routines, Flow and more. The second objective is to provide a space for athletes to develop the awareness of their mental game. The awareness is what allows an athlete to apply their mental skills to their performance.

In our first session I take the athlete through a self-assessment and introduction into Mental Conditioning. We will look at the athletes strengths and weaknesses and then begin to cover the topic of motivation. We define motivation and outline the driving force behind the athlete.
