More About Coach Vuk

I have coached a variety of age groups. I started coaching youth soccer while I was a student-athlete at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I worked primarily with U-8’s at the time, in one of Milwaukee’s biggest soccer clubs, called Bavarians SC.

After I started playing professionally in the U.S. and I Europe, I started to work with older players during my off-seasons, primarily in the high school age range. In my most recent off season, I worked as an assistant coach for FK Brodarac U-19 Academy team, which is located in Serbia’s capital, Belgrade. This team competes in the Serbian Youth National League and is a club that I played for as a youth club. During my most recent stint in Serbia , I worked primarily on the defensive side of the ball, as well as working individually with players to improve aspects of their game.

I can work with any age range and I am willing to help any player improve their skill set.

I am currently in the process of attaining my USSF B Coaching License.

I started playing soccer at a young age in Wisconsin and played majority of my soccer at the academy level, along competing in ODP.

Due to my parents holding Serbian citizenship, I was able to play in Serbia for two years at the highest level for youth soccer in the country. I played for FK Brodarac Academy in the Serbian Youth National League and earned a call up to the U-18 Serbian National team.

I came back home to play at the collegiate level at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I played from 2017-2020, where I was a team captain for two seasons.

After a successful collegiate career, I was selected by New York City FC in the 2021 MLS Draft. I played two years in the MLS and was a part of the team that won the MLS Cup in 2021.

In 2023, I went over seas to play soccer in Europe. I ended up playing in Greece, Estonia and, most recently, in Norway.

Currently, I just signed with Orange County SC and will be playing with them for the 2025 season.

My main focus of the majority of sessions will be to enhance the player’s skill set with the ball. This is the most important part of soccer, especially at the youth level. It is key to have a strong foundation with the ball.

It all depends on what the player’s needs are, but everything will be geared towards helping the player excel with the ball.Whether that’s as a simple as refining techniques, like receiving the ball out of the air or learning how to properly strike a long ball. The goal for me is to see gradual improvement with each training session.

Training sessions will vary depending on skill set and age, but they will preferably start with juggling to activate the player. Then we would move on to different sorts of dribbling circuits to practice control of the ball in tight spaces.

Afterwards, we would move on to passing and receiving the ball in smaller spaces. There are many drills for this.

At the end of the session, I would like to end it with shooting on goal. Starting from up close and then moving a little further back. I would obviously help with giving passes. There are many drills and combinations for this as well.
