More About Coach Tom
I currently work full time with the STA Soccer Club in Morristown coaching the 02G NPL and 98G NPL teams. I'm also the Head Coach of the Jersey Blues who participate in the WPSL and I'm the Mens Assistant coach at FDU College in Madison.
I have experience conducting trials, evaluating and teaching coaches, recruiting players, developing evaluation systems for clubs, and developing soccer programs for 5-18 year olds. I have had roles as a Director Of Coaching and Academy Director and whilst I was within those positions I have had to be heavily involved in educating other coaches. I have also coached teams in Australia and England and have been coaching since 2001.

Prior to the first session I would have discussed with the parent what the main focus should be, this is dependent on age and current ability level as well as their aims for the sessions.
In general for the first session i like to focus on the main technical aspect of the game, receiving first touch and ball familiarity. I work on a variety of footskills and how they can be combined together. Every situation in a game is a 1v1 so the ability to be proficient in 1v1s is key to being a well rounded soccer player.
