More About Coach Thomas

I am a lifelong avid skier. I have skied all over the world and trained with professionals in Utah's back country. I have taught skiing to all skill levels and ages, from future and former Olympians to beginners for more than a decade. I have advanced certifications in several international movement and training styles perfectly suited for the sport of skiing. I am the manager of a training studio in Boston's North End, which is the home of the Boston Sports Institutes and the Boston Institute of Snow, of which I am president of operations. I have coached private clients there for four years, and have consistently trained snow sport athletes off the mountain as well as on the hill. Skiing training sessions consist of trunk strength and stability, balance training, range of motion work, eccentric strength and conditioning, and rotational strength and stability with a constant focus on PERFECT posture. All of our sessions include flexibility and injury prevention aspects.

Avid big mountain skier. Rides with former Olympic athletes at Sunday River and Sun Valley. Hiked and skied multiple 12,000 foot-plus peaks in the Rockies and Tetons.

Trunk (Core) stability and strength, sport specific cardiovascular conditioning, leg strength through eccentric range of motion, hip and ankle strength and flexibility, postural perfection, foot pressure placement, and knee path. All are achieved through our proprietary blend of pose based static and dynamic body weight exercise, elements of Olympic lifting, interval training, and dynamic and static flexibility work.
