More About Coach Taylor

With my father being a soccer, football, and basketball coach, I was brought up assisting middle school and high school teams on the side line, as well as individually. My most recent coaching gig was arriving back home from college to individually coach a high school coach’s son in soccer. Growing up in ultra competitive environments makes me want to get the best out of each individual I coach. I became a certified soccer referee when I was 12, illustrating my determination to constantly be a part of the game I love.

I am currently a striker for Xavier University in the Big East Conference, as well as a striker for Kings Hammer FC in professional league USL 2. I won the state championship in club soccer my 9th grade year, where I then moved to play for Indiana Fire Academy in the MLSnext league. As a team we made it to the round of 16 in the MLSnext playoffs where I was the leading goal scorer with 16 goals. I also trained and played some friendly matches with Indy Eleven, a USL Championship side, where I played against FC Cincinatti’s 1st team.

This past freshman year at Xavier I started as a striker and totaled 900 minutes with 2 goals and 4 assists where we ended 9-7-1. I was also on the ballot for Xavier athlete Freshman of the year, as well as earning Big East Freshman of the Week honors.

After the season I got asked to play for a USL 2 side Kings Hammer FC in Cincinatti, where I am currently playing this summer. I currently have 4 goals and 1 assist in 3 games for them.

I can work a training session centered around what the client wants to focus on, whether they are a defender, midfielder, or attacker. With this comes different sets of drills and pattern plays, where I myself can play with my clients to work alongside them to keep a high, hard-working tempo. A lot of this has to do with technical work and feet since it is a 1 on 1 or small group session. Some cardio and strength will be involved (age noted), as soccer players need to be fit to eventually last 90 minutes in a match.
