More About Coach Tatiana

I am currently the Volunteer Assistant Coach at Elon University where all work with all hitters and the outfielders. I was a former student-athlete at UNCG where I played 6 out of 9 positions at the collegiate level.

I am currently an Intern within our Athletic Department at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro. UNCG is a Division I University. At UNCG I have played 2B, SS, 3B, LF, CF, and RF, so I am very familiar with these positions. I am originally a RH batter, but switched over to the left side to slap due to my foot speed. As a sophomore, CF became my permanent position where I earned Southern Conference second team selection in the outfield. I started all 57 games with 43 hits, 25 runs, two doubles, three triples and 12 RBI's. I threw out six runners from the outfield, had 14 stolen bases and had 11 multi-hit games as well as a nine-game hitting streak. As a Junior, I started all 57 games at SS with a .294 BA with 50 hits, 3 doubles, 4 triples, and 18 RBI's. I also LED the SoCon with 127 assists at SS. As a Senior, I saw action in all 47 games, starting all 47 in centerfield. I set a new career high with a .320 average with 41 hits, 19 runs scored, three doubles, three triples and eight RBI’s. I was 4-for-4 in stolen bases and threw out a team high of six runners in the outfield. During conference play only, I hit .366 (third best on the team) with 15 hits and six runs scored. I finished the season with a seven-game hitting streak and picked up 10 hits in 22 at bats.

Although it is very difficult to sum up what a typical session with me would be, I will try my best. First, all sessions would be specific to the player herself. One major aspect I will be implementing is the importance of the correct fundamentals. These basic fundamentals will be implemented when it comes to every aspect of softball: throwing, OF, IF, hitting, slapping. Fundamentals are very important to college coaches and are one of the main aspects a coach looks for when recruiting. When it comes to defense, the practice of fundamentals, repetition, and consistency is very important to me. As far as offense, hitting becomes very specific to the player herself. Not every player hits the same, and it would be completely foolish of me to change a player's swing if it is not necessary.
