More About Coach Tara
I have been coaching softball almost as long as I have been playing it. I finished my college playing career in 2010 and that is when I started coaching. From 2010-2012 I was an assistant coach at MSU-Denver. I took a couple years off when I moved out of state but when I moved back to CO I again became the assistant coach at MSU-Denver and I was there from 2014-2016. I specialize in hitting instruction but am also available for catching, beginning pitching, infield and outfield.
I started my college career at DI IPFW in Indiana where I was team MVP, All Independent Conference 2nd team and an All Newcomer Team selection, 4th toughest to strike out in DI, first team all Summit League, and I made the Summit League All-Tournament Team. I transferred for my junior year to MSU-Denver where I was First Team All American, First Team All Region, Second Team All Region, First Team All-RMAC, and I set a school record for home runs and RBI's with 22 and 74 respectively. My Senior year I was Second Team All America, Second Team All-Region, First Team All-RMAC, I made the RMAC all tournament team, the NCAA All Tournament team, I led the nation in homeruns while passing my previous record with 25 and I was one of the top 12 seniors in D2.
Depending on what area you want to focus on, I completely break down everything and we will start from the beginning. I will build you back up and refine your skills through mini drills and we will even video analyze so you can see where you are and where you need to be.
