More About Coach Stewart

I have been combining coaching with playing Soccer since U18 continuing to Coach whilst playing College Soccer at Edinburgh University in the United Kingdom, whilst playing professionally in the United States for the Philadelphia Fury and finally combining youth coaching whilst also in the capacity of assistant coach for the Philadelphia Fury.

I have an abundance of Coaching experience ranging from Travel teams, State Cup winning club teams and Academy teams. These teams range from U9 to U23.

2009-2011- Coach at Gracemount High School Soccer Academy, Scotland

2011-2014 - Head Coach, Bonnyrigg Rose 2006’s (Pro Academy Team), Scotland

2015-Present - Trainer/Head Coach for numerous Soccer clubs in the New Jersey area including Concord Soccer Club (DE), Washington United (NJ) and Swedesboro Soccer Club (NJ).

Currently -
- Assistant Coach, Philadelphia Fury
- Head Coach, Philadelphia Fury U23
- Head Coach, Washington United U18B (State Cup Champions 2018)
- Head Coach, Washington United U19B (State Cup Champions 2018)
- Head Coach, Washington United U14B
- Head Coach, Washington United U9G

I also have multiple coaching certifications from the Scottish FA.

I played College Soccer for Edinburgh University from 2011-2014 playing in the semi-professional Scottish Lowland League.

I then played for the Philadelphia Fury of the American Soccer League from 2015-17 before deciding to focus on coaching and transitioning to Assistant Coach of the team and Head Coach of the Philadelphia Fury U23 team comprising of College Players playing D1, D2 and D3 Socccer.

Given the range of ages I have coached my sessions have a lot of variation and would be catered to the specific needs of player.

A session for a less experienced player would involve a lot of technical drills based on maximising touches on the ball and would begin to touch on some tactical and game based elements as the player progresses.

Sessions for Older/More experiences players would be based on position specific movements and patterns that would reflect in game situations. Sessions would involve a lot of tactical instruction and work on a players decision making in different scenarios.

Players in between these two categories would receive a mixture of technical/tactical/situational training to beat suit there needs.
