More About Coach Stephanie

I've had the privilege of training high school athletes throughout the Bay Area over the past 7 years. I've coached at Stanford University's and Saint Francis High School's summer camps as well as trained athletes in the Futures Program. I have been the Assistant Varsity Coach at Saint Francis High School for the past 3 years and have worked closely with San Jose Fly's U18 program.

After being selected League and County Player of the Year my senior year of high school, I went on to play collegiate field hockey at Stanford University. I received our conference's Rookie of the Year award and All-Conference accolades the following years. I capped off my senior year as captain of our team, which was ranked as high as number 6 in the nation, and was named to the All-Tournament and All-West Region teams. Through the Futures program, I was a two-time Futures Elite member and was invited to the Junior National Camp prior to entering my freshman year at Stanford.

I always like to start my training sessions with fundamental skills and letting the athlete get as many touches on the ball to warm up the wrists. I really stress the importance of starting off with the correct technique no matter what skill level they are at so you can build from there. I played center forward throughout my collegiate career and have many drills that help focus on movement, receiving, and shooting, but since forwards are also the first line of defense, I can facilitate many drills for defenders. If desired, we can incorporate conditioning into the training session as well.

Coach Stephanie is a great Coach. After one session my daughter learned a ton on the keys of successful field hockey. Stephanie was also well prepared and organized. One look at her resume sold us and she is even better in person.

Stephanie quickly responded to my request and all my questions. By the first session my daughter really clicked with her and was able to help improve her skills. I wish we met years ago!
