More About Coach Sheanon

I attended The Rivers School in Weston, Massachusetts and played club soccer for FC Greater Boston Bolts before being offered a place at the IMG Soccer Academy in Bradenton, Florida in 2005 as a member of the U.S. Under-17 National Team Residency Program. I earned NSCAA/adidas Youth All-America honors in 2006 and 2007, and was named to the 2007 PARADE High School All-America squad. I played in two youth World Cups for the United States: the U-17 World Cup in Korea (2007) and the U-20 World Cup in Egypt (2009). I played the 2009 Premier Development League season with the Carolina Dynamo, earning All-Eastern Conference honors after scoring six goals and accumulating 16 points in 12 games. I left the University of North Carolina after only one season (2008) to pursue a professional career in Europe, landing tryouts with VfL Wolfsburg (Germany) and FC Twente (Netherlands). Despite performing well on trial overseas, I was unable to secure a contract and returned to the United States in 2009. In 2010 I signed a professional contract with the Philadelphia Union.

I enjoy working with players of all ages and all skill levels. During a typical session we will work through a brief warm up, followed by skill and footwork drills. I end a session with 1 on 1 shooting drills or 1 on 1 defending drills depending on the players position. Every session is different depending on the players needs, I really enjoy seeing large amounts of improvement in a player in a short amount of time.

It goes without saying that Sheanon is one of the top defenders in MLS and he is also a phenomenal instructor. My son Eli has benefited greatly from his three sessions with Sheanon.
