A typical session with me will focus on technical and tacitcal skills. We will work on correct passing techniques mixed with some fitness and also tactical procedures depending on the clients position. A typical session with me would start with a 10-15 minute warm up of quick touches, dribbling in and out of cones working on keeping ball close, head up, mis direction, and quick change of direction and pace. We would then progress into defending (pending if they were a defender) or passing in tight spaces for midfielders, or attacking 1v1 if they were a striker for 20 minutes. We would then go over situational areas the client may have trouble making a quick decision. Ex: If I am going one on one with a defender should I cut it in and shoot or take them down to the end line if I can beat them. I would tell them if they feel confident with the shooting foot possibly cut it in, but if you can beat the defender one on one with a stop and go, or a quick change of pace and slide it into the penalty mark for an easy shot for a teammate, that would be the correct decision. Then we would practice change of pace drills down the side line.
