I worked as a personal trainer at Equinox; taught group and private yoga across NYC; and have over 10 years experience coaching beginner to advanced skaters, both on and off the ice. I hold Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, RYT 200, and ACE Group Fitness Instructor certifications. I work with all ages and especially love working with kids :)

I am a professional figure skater and coach, but have practiced yoga and trained athletes for over 10 years! I am a Moves-in-the-Field Gold Medalist and trained under Olympic and World level coaches for years. I competed on a regional level, as well as acted as a featured soloist and ice theater performer in various shows throughout New England. My personal training consisted of choreography development, bootcamp conditioning, yoga, ballet, running, and on ice practice.

Each of my lessons are customized to my athletes, including running through different drills and skills in light of personal goals. Our fitness training session will include strengthening and stretching muscles to maximize personal performance. For example, we may focus on improving hip mobility and knee stability in lunges through PNF and ballistic stretches in order to improve running stance and speed. The session is yours and I am happy to enhance your learning!

Before the session starts, I offer a free 15 minute consultation to review personal goals and questions with students. A typical session with me with include a basic run through of what our intention is for the session, pranayama (breathing), an explanation of (new) asanas, a full sequence with a warm up and cool down, savasana (corpse pose) with optional essential oils, and a quick meditation. Of course, each session will vary depending on the specific goals of the student and what makes sense for their practice.

I am a 19-year-old girl who knows the basics of ice skating, but who is completely knew to figure skating. I had my first lesson yesterday, and I couldn’t be more satisfied. Even before our first lesson, Sarah responded very quickly to all of my questions. After our first lesson only, I can already tell that Sarah is a very sweet and skilled instructor. Like the other reviewers already mentioned, she is also very patient, dedicated and enthusiastic when it comes to teaching different skills—which in turn keeps you excited about learning new skills as well. Honestly, the class went by so fast—unfortunately, because I truly enjoyed it. I will definitely keep taking classes with Sarah, and would wholeheartedly recommend her as a figure skating coach to everyone!
