Sam T.

I am a member of NFHS and have coached athletes in a club setting preparing for collegiate play, as well at the Middle and High School levels. I have coached in public schools at the Middle School level, and in Independent Schools at the High School level. I am currently the Varsity Softball coach at Stoneleigh-Burnham School, an independent all-girls boarding school and have been coaching here for three years. We have students aged 12-18 on our team, and my focus with this current group is on skill development, and sportsmanship. As a former catcher I also spend a significant amount of time coaching pitchers and catchers individually.

I have been playing the game for 23 years and counting. I was twice selected as a league all-star in my high school career, Varsity Captain for two seasons, as well as team MVP two seasons running as well. I was also a member of the 2008 Turners Falls High School State Championship team. As a college athlete at C.W. Post, I participated in intramural softball. As an adult, I play in a competitive women's softball league on a team that has gone to the league tournament finals for the last three years.

Masters of the game are made from perfecting our play from the foundation. My sessions will always start with the foundations, and then we will mix in your individual based goals, while also making sure to focus on perfecting your play. Improving upon our most basic skills brings us closer to mastery, and this requires repetition. We'll work on perfecting every throw, every swing, every catch, every movement of our feet, and every follow-through. Your foundation skills will become second nature. Next we'll focus on your weaknesses, and find ways to improve upon the areas you feel need the most attention. Regardless of your goals, you will be challenged to be your best, every single session.
