More About Coach Samantha

I have trained softball players from age 6 to 16. I have coached for an indoor baseball/softball facility in the north suburbs, at Bethel College and on my own on the Northwest side. I am working on my ASEP certification.

I played 4 years of varsity high school softball where I played all positions. I won the Toyota High School Athlete of the Week for pitching a perfect game and a no-hitter in the same week. I played infield and outfield in college for 4 years. I was trained as a pitcher by one of the premier north shore pitching coaches who has since retired.

I can teach hitting, fielding and pitching. I evaluate the athletes current skills and then put together a plan for building a solid foundation. Mechanics are the cornerstone to being an effective pitcher. Movement and Speed are added after a student masters the mechanics of a safe and effective windmill delivery. A compact swing is essential in the game of softball and if done right will result in no loss of power.
