More About Coach Samantha

I have been coaching youth and high school sports for 7 years. I have trained athletes in track and field, specifically sprints, mid distance, and field events. I am very knowledgeable in the sport and understand the different mechanics that are needed for different events. I am currently the sprints coach at Maine South High School on the girls side. In my 2 years coaching there my athletes have broken several school records including the 200m dash and 4x400m relay and have qualified to the state meet. I have also coached at a variety of college track camps including Butler, Princeton, and Boston University.

I ran division 1 track for 4 years at Butler University where I predominantly ran the 400m dash. As a junior and senior I was captain of the team. I competed at the Big East conference championship meet 3 years in a row and was all conference for 2 of those years. I was a member of the school record breaking 4x400m relay as well as the school record breaking distance medley relay. I ran track all 4 years of high school in New York. I hold records in the 4x400m, 4x100m, 4x800m, distance medley relay, and sprint medley relay. I went to the New York state meet all 4 years of high school and qualified for nationals my senior year. Although my main event was the 400m, I also ran the 200m, 400m hurdles, 800m, and did triple jump.

My session plan depends on the individual. Before having the first session, I would like to take a few minutes to cover where the athlete is at, and what they’d like to work on. Dependent on that I will then decide what kind of session would be best to improve the player’s skills and meet their goals. I've worked with clients on different areas such as form, power, endurance, and agility. Every session will start with a warm-up where we will dedicate time to proper form and mechanics and end with a cool down to endure the athlete is staying healthy.
