More About Coach Ryan

I have coached for years with the Long Island Express and Long Island Express North, one of the top tier programs in the country. I also have experience coaching for my town's youth teams. I have coached kids from the ages of 10-14, but have also coached at various elite high school showcases such as Maverik Showtime. I have been giving private lessons to players of all ages ever since I was in high school.

I am an attackman. I was a US Lacrosse All-American my senior year of high school. I played on the Long Island Express and competed at the highest club level. I played at the University of Richmond for four years. I started all four years, and set point records my Sophomore year that were eventually broken this past season. My team has won the Southern Conference championship two years in a row and have played in the first round of the NCAA tournament.

I typically would begin with a quick warm up, including a stretch and a passing drill to get loose. I would then focus on fundamentals of being a dynamic offensive player. I would start with footwork drills, working on dodges from different spots on the field. Then, I would transition to stick protection. As an offensive player, you must get your stick handles in sync with your footwork. Finally I would focus on catching passes and shooting them from in tight on the goal, and then finish with time and room shooting. This type of a session would last anywhere from an hour to an hour and a half.
