More About Coach Ralph
Coach Ralph has over 20 years of experience in developing talent in professional, college, and preparatory school environments. A proven leader, he has a consistent track record for coaching, inspiring, and motivating teams and individuals to reach their potential. He has coached, mentored, and trained players of all ages and at all levels of play.
Coach's credentials include coaching summer camps with the Boston Celtics and the Northeastern University Huskies; coaching offense, defense and individual players for the Premier Basketball League’s New Hampshire Millrats and Saint John Mill Rats; and serving as Director of Basketball Activities and Head Coach for the British School of Boston, where he helped develop the basketball program. He has also been extensively involved in recreational league basketball as a coach, captain, player, and recruiter for the elite non-professional leagues in the Boston area.
In addition to the above, Coach is an integral part of the operational staff of the Saint John Mill Rats of the National Basketball League of Canada, where his responsibilities include administrative, managerial, scouting, player development, and coaching.
Coach is also a Certified IAABO Basketball referee.
Coached summer camps with the Boston Celtics and the Northeastern University Huskies.
Currently serves as Assistant to the General Manager of the Saint John Mill Rats. As such, Coach has successfully recommended and referred over 100 players to professional positions, including such players as Anthony Anderson, UMASS, Amherst; Antonio Anderson, Memphis, TN; Cortland Blueford, Assumption College, Worcester, MA; Dwight Brewington, Providence, RI; Darren Duncan, Merrimac, MA; and Farnold Degand, North Carolina State, NC.
Instituted the first basketball program at the British School of Boston and, subsequently, acted as head coach, program developer, and recruiter for school team.
For over 20 years, Coach has been heavily involved in high-level recreational leagues as captain, head coach, player, and recruiter.
Has volunteered his services, extensively, in coaching teams and individuals for schools and community organizations throughout New England.
Coach Ralph has created a Comprehensive Career Development Program that is unique in basketball training. The program includes everything from technical instruction, strength training, teamwork, individual development, and a full range of basketball fundamentals such as offense and defense, shooting, passing and dribbling, rebounding and boxing out, and total team schemes.
The sessions are designed to meet the needs of the individual player and takes into account their age, level of development, and position. Each session begins with a dynamic warm up and then proceeds to a workout that stresses the fundamental skills combined with footwork, shooting, ball grip and handling, balance, and cardio workouts.
Coach runs workouts for professional players but is also experienced in working with younger players to develop their skill sets in an encouraging, open environment.
Coach also offers video analysis, recording, and documentation where he pinpoints each player’s strengths and weaknesses. He then provides correction and motivates each player to take the lessons learned from the tape, and translate them into action on the court.
For the serious prospects, he also provides academic or remedial support, nutritional education, and references and recommendations to strength training coaches, nutritionists, and to preparatory schools, colleges, and national and international professional basketball teams.

Client Reviews
Shirin (CoachUp client)
Coach Allen has been extremely helpful in improving my son's game. My son's dribbling and shooting have improved considerably. He is very patient, repeating every step many times and going over every move repeatedly until he gets it . Very encouraging. He has worked with my son's offensive skills, helping him with scoring more shots.
We will return for more sessions and highly recommend Coach Allen to anyone who is looking to improve their game quality.
