More About Coach Omar

I have been coaching soccer for the past 8 years at competitive levels as well as recreational.

At recreational level, I currently manage 3 teams, U6, U8 and U10. For this specific age group soccer must be 100% recreational, that's why I focus my sessions on global training (real game situations), and coordination drills rather than analytic training (non real game situations). Sessions are fun and have to do a lot with relationship with the ball and stimulating the players to discover the love for the game.

I've also coached teams at a competitive level from ages 14-18 years old that play Coast Soccer League at Gold, and Silver Elite levels. For this specific level and age group, besides basing most of the training as a global context as well (which has to do with real game situations), I also incorporate physical fitness; cardiovascular, strength, conditioning & flexibility so that the players could be well rounded. Analytic training is also incorporated to sharpen concepts such as passing, controlling, shooting, etc.

I've also done personal training to prepare players for their college and high school seasons. I've trained players that currently play at Biola Uneversity, Cal State L.A., Cal State San Bernardino and the most outstanding examples are a goalkeeper that made his pro debut in Mexico two seasons ago and currently plays professionally for Pumas UNAM, another player that after getting a full ride at Cal Baptist we took him to try out for Queretaro FC and currently plays for their U20 squad and the most recent one at 21 years old has been scouted by Pachuca FC and will be joining their 2nd Division team for pre season.

I have Cal South Coaching License Level: “E” License

Currently enrolled at OCC to obtain a “Fitness Specialist Certification”.

I currently am the director of an Academy where I overlook the work of the coaches and the development of the players. I apply, direct and stimulate practices, training sessions and games of the teams conformed by the young soccer players. I also market and advertise the academy for the growth of the club.

Client Reviews

(no details provided)

Thank you so much from the love and support Omar, you and your dad have always been there to guide me with all this and for some reason you both saw something in me that no one else saw and for that I thank you, because I took all those thoughts and ideas and skills you installed in me and put it to work. Now because of all that, tomorrow I will be playing a huge game at 12pm. I was chosen as a starting striker for the opening match. I did so well today couldn't help but to be overwhelmed that I was chosen over guys coming from Italy, Spain, Nigeria, Uruguay! I'm just some kid from California who never gave up! Thanks again for keeping me in mind and tomorrow your boy will show everyone why I deserve to be here. Chris Umana - Striker at Miami Fusion
