More About Coach Nicole

I have given private lessons at two different softball facilities in Massachusetts after college. In 2010 I was the assistant coach/pitching coach for the Binghamton Varsity Softball Team, under head coach Dale Cook (whom I played for with the Conklin Raiders). As a Raider we also ran camps for children. Starting with developmental skills and reaching up to the advanced level.

Softball has been a huge passion of mine since the age of 9. I have qualified (along with my team of course) and competed in ASA National tournaments every year until the age of 23. In which I had the experience of playing with and against the best of the best. Three years in a row, The Conklin Raiders (18-Under Fast Pitch Team) finished within the top 10. Placing 9th, 7th, and the all time teams best 5th at Nationals. That accomplishment alone I am beyond greatful to have been a part of. I spent my high school career as the starting pitcher for Union Endicott. In 1999 we made it to the state finals, although I lost in 12 innings, I learned a lot. I was an All-State first team selection three years in a row, along with STAC Champions back to back in 99-00. Also earning the Athlete of the Week selection multiples times a season. I was selected to be in the 99-00 edition of Who's Who In Sports High school Edition. I earned a full athletic scholoarship to American International College, where I spent 4 years pitching along with playing first and being an important assest to the hitting line up as well.

My basic lesson plan starts with having the player tell me about themselves and or their typical routine, if they have one. Static and dynamic stretching is the first step and the most important. From there depending on what the lesson is for I start with fundamentals. We will go through it together properly and make sure they have a grasp on that before continuing. Each session ends with homework. Whether it be wrist snaps for pitchers, mirror work for hitters, or foot work skills for fielders. I add my own personality to each lesson with competitions for push-ups as well. The key is to have fun with it, but also work hard.
