More About Coach Nick

I've worked with the Sports Science department for FC Dallas's first team and academy teams to do professional performance testing. I'd like to incorporate a certain level of individual-specific performance training into my soccer sessions.
I have a variety of coaching experience with elementary after-school programs here in Colorado, U6-U9 recreational team coaching, U6-14 camp coaching at FC Dallas, and I am the assistant coach for FC Denver's U19 team.
I can work with all age groups, but I typically work with competitive high school athletes.
I have my grassroots coaching license for U8, U11, U14, and U15+. I am currently pursuing my US Soccer D license as well as my CSCS Strength and Conditioning certification through NSCA. I also have an Individual Sports Psychology certification from United Soccer Coaches organization.

I played High School soccer in Texas, but then I went abroad and attended university in Leeds, England and played semi-professionally when I was 18 years old until 20. At 20 years old I played for Bradford City's U23's at the professional level. I then transferred clubs and played in Marbella, Spain for a year and a half. I was on Marbella United in the 6th division, as well as San Pedro's U23's in the 5th division. I had to come back to the US for family reasons in the fall of 2016, and I played for Texas Spurs in the NPSL from October 2017 to November 2018. I moved to Denver in March of this year and pursued coaching as a career, while I continue to play for FC Denver's first team.
I received MVP in high school, and was on the Dean's list every year of university in Leeds and was honored for academic achievement and as an international sports ambassador. I finished my Sports Managment bachelors degree online while playing in Spain but didn't receive any specific awards with that club.

My session plans include a thorough dynamic warmup to get the blood flowing and reduce the risks of injury. From there I will put them through baseline performance testing with a sprint test, agility tests, quickness tests, a jump test, and an endurance test. After baseline testing in the first session, we would do soccer specific technical work (skills, passing, dribbling, shooting, etc.) to improve the ability of the player, strength and conditioning drills to improve overall performance, and finish the sessions with goal setting and a good cooldown.
I focus mainly on first touch control and use the Coerver Method of training for complete ball mastery. Although, it depends more on the needs of the player. I like to work more as a training partner, rather than just a coach. I'll help with correcting specific movements and techniques, and performance related movements both to reduce injury and increase efficiency. I like to push my athletes to improve, but I'm young and still playing myself, so I keep it fun, competitive, and engaging.

Client Reviews

My high school age daughter really enjoyed her first session. I’ll add more info as she gets more training in with Nick in the future.

Nick is honest, creative, dependable, and incredibly hard-working. Beyond that, he is a natural coach who is always professional, energized and engaged with the people around him. I’ve gotten to know him as a truly valuable asset and would recommend him to any team.
