More About Coach Nicholas

I love Soccer. I have been competing at a high level throughout my life. I have played Varsity for both High School and College while playing Premier soccer on the off season and I have a vast knowledge of every position on the field based off of my personal & professional experience.

I have experience coaching children ages 4-18 and enjoy working with clients of all ages. As a Counselor for high risk youth, I gained valuable knowledge & skills working for children with intellectual, mental, & emotional disabilities. My specialties include defense, ball distribution, endurance, speed, agility, striking, passing and technical ball work. My philosophy starts with building the soccer mind first and allowing the body to follow.

All sessions will include a dynamic warm up, a long cool down, and time devoted to both endurance and ball work. My athletes will have a stronger knowledge of the game and will display the mental and physical endurance necessary to multiple matches in a row. My athletes will not only feel an improvement in their game but have the confidence to make a dramatic impact to whatever team they play for at every level.

I started playing soccer at six years old. I played Varsity Soccer at Ipswich High School, located in the North Shore of Massachusetts, all four years. We took our team to the State Championship, the farthest this program has ever been, and two consecutive North Regional Finals, which no Cape Ann League team has done previously.

I was then recruited to play at Lesley University, located in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in which I started all four years on Varsity Soccer. I assisted this team to two consecutive League Finals, finishing both those seasons with only three loses.

Throughout my college and high school career I played premier soccer for the Soccer United North Shore, later changing their name to the Suns/Force Vikings, for four years. I captained this team for two years and started for this team all four years, taking this team to the State Championship, as well as winning multiple tournaments, the most notable being Oakwood Regional Tournament. Lastly, during college I played for the Boston Aztecs U-23 USFL team, I belonged to the alternate team, which acted as a farm team to the programs first stringers.

Note: Each practice is designed to meet the needs of the individual; the practice will focus on what the athletes need to work on and will be drilled specifically for the position they play.

Dynamic Warm Up: (Both the Athlete and I will complete this warm up every session) We will run the width of the field back and forth completing light plyometrics, stretching, and light sprinting.

Fundamentals: passing, trapping, long balls, chip balls, juggling, and headers.

Ball work. We will focus on soccer moves, ball speed, ball agility, etc.

Specific Position Training: Defense, Midfield, and Attackers will have specific drills that will improve their soccer skills for each position but mentally prepare for the position they play and help develop pro-soccer habits in each position.

Endurance and Strength Training. Wind sprints, suicides, long distance running, and plyometrics.

Cool Down. This is not only the last piece to every session but one of the most important. We will spend the last ten minutes of every session completing a lengthy cool down. Focusing on regulating the athletes breathing, stretching each and every muscle used to help prevent injury, as well as reflecting on the day’s session and what was learned.

Each Session will change based on the individuals progress and specific skills. Each session will NOT be run in the same order.

Client Reviews

(no details provided)

I was very impressed with Coach Nicholas after the first session. He took the time to really access my son and find out from him what he was looking for out of these sessions and did it in an instructive and challenging way. Looking forward to future training sessions with Nick.

I am very please overall with Nick's skills and professionalism.

Nick definitely has helped Sebastian quite a bit in developing his soccer skills. He has a lot of knowledge about the sport. He also works really well with kids.

I was hoping to find a coach to help Sebastian practice. However, Nick exceded my hopes. He watched Sebastian play a game and is now developing a training program tailored to help Seb. Thank you so much Nick.

See you when we get back!
