More About Coach Mulenga

National USSF Licensed coach, Certified Personal Trainer, Speed Agility Quickness Specialist, Core Conditioning Specialist, Functional Training Specialist.
Coached soccer for 10+ years. Throughout my playing career, I have served as a coach player for every team I played on. Through college, I played as well as coached. I was so passionate about coaching, so I knew it was my calling. Right out of college, I coached High School for Cristo Rey Jesuit as well as Club for Minneapolis United and St Croix respectively. While coaching, I worked for the Sanneh foundation. At the foundation our mission was to use the appeal of sports to get kids off the streets. I worked with and coached kids that are today either playing high school, college or are doing something positive with their lives.
After serving 2 years at the foundation an opportunity presented itself, one that I couldn't pass. I was fortunate enough to get a full-time coaching job at Left Foot Coaching Academy. At Left Foot, I was in-charge of Developmental one-on-ones, Semi Private coaching, Dynamic Training, Intensive Training and Group Training. I learned a lot of valuable coaching lessons while at left foot. My goal is to continue growing as a coach and positively impacting the future leaders of tomorrow.

Represented Zambia at the U15 Gothia cup tournament in Sweden when I was 12 years old.
Played professionally at division 1 level for Afrisports in Zambia. (15 years old)
Played for Zambia's U17 national team (15 years old)
Moved to the US in 2007 for college, didn't play competitively for 2 years. In 2009, I played competitively at Anoka Ramsey Community College NJCAA for a year.
I was selected as an All American, All Region Team and Outstanding Athlete.
After a successful year at ARCC, I received offers from Hamline, Augsburg, Jamestown, Georgia and Mercer but I ended choosing UW-Parkside because they offered me a Full Ride and I had a couple of my friends going there.
After graduating from Parkside with a Business degree I came back to Minnesota and have since been working on improving my coaching by learning from experienced coaches as well as attending continuing education courses.

For my first time clients, I do an assessment to test linear and lateral deceleration, spatial awareness, ball striking, and dynamic ball manipulation.
After the assessment I am able to formulate a session plan.

In my sessions I address the four phases of the game: Technical, Tactical, Physical and Mental.
My sessions are very fun and rewarding!

I create game like situations to make it more relatable for the athlete.

Upon request I do attend games and do match analysis. Based on the analysis I meet with the athlete at the next session and we go over the game analysis and from there we fix the athletes weakness or improve on their strength.

Client Reviews

I'm an athletic adult who recently started playing soccer, so I didn't have some of the basic skills that others on my team learned at a young age. Mulenga is patient and makes sure I understand all the items required to successfully execute basic moves. I'm sure with his guidance I'll quickly master basic moves and we can start working on advanced skills. I highly recommend him!

He has done a great job of improving my sons technical skills.

Coach Mulenga was an amazing coach. He taught soccer drills/technique and mental focus to my son in 10 days that my son never learned in 4 years. My son who is 8 improved a lot in just 10 days of daily coaching by Mulenga. If we had not moved to London we would have continued to train with Coach Mulenga. Thank you Coach Mulenga, we do hope to see you in London soon. Theo thinks of you as his only coach and can't wait to train with you again. You had quite an impression on him.

We are so happy to have found Coach Mulenga. He’s very flexible with times, and works great with our daughter.

My son loves working with Mulenga, and we have already seen a great improvement in his skills in a few short weeks! Highly recommend Mulenga!!

My son loves the workouts- works him hard and gives him lots of drills to improve his skills.

Coach Kapungulya’s attention to detail has already helped my daughter’s technical skills! He’s extremely patient and takes the time to explain everything so the athlete fully understands. Very excited to be working with him!

My son thinks Coach Mulenga is fantastic! He has a great rapport with him and his soccer knowledge is amazing! I have never seen my son connect so well with a coach and learn so much. I especially appreciate how he is teaching him how to use better soccer mechanics to protect himself from injuries. Thank you, Coach Mulenga!

Our daughter did not get sufficient training in basic foot skills. There was no consistency in incremental development of skills. There was no direct focus on what her needs were and development of a plan for her progression. Coach Mulenga was able to pinpoint our daughter's needs and individualize a plan for fixing identified weak areas and continuing to build her strengths. He taught her specific strategies for the position she is playing. Reinforcement of taught skills and layering new tactics produced confidence on the ball. We can identify improvement based upon her now starting and playing the entire game. Other parents say "What happened?" The make unsolicited comments during games on the quality and aggressiveness of her play. We feel very grateful for helping our daughter to develop in a sport she loves!
As a defender, Colby was too quick to just get rid of the ball. He lacked confidence in being able to control the ball as a defender. Colby now controls the ball more and is able to look for passes and better plays. Both in his game as well as his confidence! Thank you, Coach Mulenga, for all your time and continued support for Colby!
Coach Mulenga has helped my daughter with her speed, ball control, physical endurance, ball striking and confidence. You can see she is very confident and thinking through her moves and passes in practice or game situations.
Charlie was struggling with confidence because of his new coach. Coach Mulenga is really positive when he works with him, he really thrives with that. Charlie is learning things he never knew/learned. As he said, Coach Mulenga teaches the technique and small stuff to improve his overall game. He said other kids have commented his cuts and better play.
My Son's balance, footwork and first touch have improved greatly. It's awesome to watch the results on the field! Coach Mulenga's technical drills and approach to training are very effective. The kids pay attention, and learn something new every session.
Coach Mulenga has the knowledge and vision to breakdown players skills and techniques. This emphasis on the tiniest details has allowed our Sons to think less make both smarter and intentional decisions on the field and to self analyze/notice and adjust his playing. Additionally, Coach Mulenga has an encouraging and challenging manner that allows for mistakes and pushes the player to improve. So even when its difficult or doesn't come easy my kids confidentiality work through the learning process.
In the few months i've worked with coach Mulenga i've seen great improvement in my son's game. The footwork and agility drills have resulted in better ball control with my son. Coach Mulenga is passionate about soccer and you see that reflected in his coaching.
