More About Coach Monique

Head coach and founder of SoCal Ballers. There's nothing I love more than passing on my knowledge of the game and helping girls fulfill their potential. Capable of profoundly developing and improving every area of a players game EVERY position as well as agility, and conditioning. IG: Coachmo_ballertraining

LEFTY SLAPPER & POWER SWITCH HITTER. I have been coached by several notable coaches, who have coached many girls who currently play in the NPF. My freshman year at Napa Valley College I was 2nd team all conference, #1 in conference for stolen bases, and voted best defensive player. My Sophomore year at Napa Valley College I was 1st team all conference, Voted MVP, 3rd in the state of California for stolen bases, 1 of 18 girls in Northern California selected to participate in the Sophomore Showcase, and received several scholarship offers. I finished my sophomore season at Napa Valley College 1st team all conference, with 33 stolen bases, 1st in conference for SB, 2nd in conference for runs scored (47), .359 batting average, 17 RBI's. I am still playing college ball starting my senior season of softball, while assistant coaching.

I take time observing the players mechanics, and finding the areas that they need improvement. I will make their movements quick and efficient, and always ready to make a play. For hitting I will find a routine that the player is comfortable with while emphasizing and helping the player understand mechanics. Creating a confident, powerful and aggressive hitter. I will also help develop the players mental game, attitude, and confidence.

Monique is very knowledgeable in pitching techniques and mechanics. My daughter was very comfortable with her, she’s patient, gives positive feedback, and encouraging remarks through her trainings. You can definitely see that she enjoys what she does.

Already in the first meeting, I could tell my daughyer was learning so much. Coach Monique knew how to explain things that an 11 year old would fully understand and why they were doing it a certain way. My daughter was able to apply everything that was being taught and understand what went wrong when something didn't go as planned. I am so happy that I chose to sign up for these lessons and excited for everything that my daughter will be learning.

Coach Monique what a professional not only is she knowledgeable but the work ethic is second to none and breaking the game down to my daughter in a manner where a 11 yr old can understand. Coach is very approachable I told her areas I thought my daughter needed to work on and she hit those areas of her game and more the work outs are hard working and refreshing Thank you Caoch

When our 7, 8 and 9 hitters got on base, Mo knew what to do – drive the ball, get it through the infield, and she did,” NVC head coach Michelle Hobbs said. “Her RBIs skyrocketed in the second half of season because of that. It was really cool to watch her evolve.Mo was harder to pitch to, and I liked the demeanor she brought to the plate,” Hobbs said of Loafea-Carter. “It wasn’t arrogance, but confidence, like ‘I’m going to get on first base,’ and I wanted the other team to feel that. That was the role she was meant to be in, and once she bought into it and knew what it was, I knew it would make her successful. “The thing about her is if she doesn’t get on base, she will instantly come to you and say ‘OK, what do I need to do?’ or ‘Coach, I think I’m going to try this this time; what do you think?’ She hides a lot of emotion. Never did I see one of her at-bats or plays in the outfield affect another at-bat or play, and that’s hard to do because people tend to dwell on the negative. She’ll be hard to replace next year.”“Mo has a maturity level most kids her age don’t have,” the coach said. “She has a lot of life experiences and maybe has grown up faster than she should have. That doesn’t mean she can’t go out and have fun and be silly. But she’s very in-tune of when it’s appropriate, and almost selfish to the point where she does what she needs to do. She’s really good about saying no. I’ve been coaching at this level for 10 years and only a few players ‘get it’ like she does – how to be a good person, to have fun but be dedicated and work hard, and understand what it means to be a good, productive member of society. When she’s silly, it makes you really admire then other side of her so much more. She’ll also give everything she has to help somebody else, too. But she is a self-made person, and I so admire that about her.
