Mitch Whitehead

My coaching experience started in 2018 when I was a Youth Academy Coach for the Brazos Valley Cavalry in College Station, TX. I coached ages 3-8 mainly focusing on fundamentals of the game and also assisted with Goalkeepers.

After moving to the South Austin, TX area in 2021, I was able to begin coaching with RTG Academy in 2022 and have been able to learn from some of the top professional Goalkeeper coaches in the industry. RTG Academy gave me exposure to coaching over 40 goalkeepers at a time in large group settings with several varying topics and lesson plans during each session ranging from ages 5-18.

In 2023, I began volunteer coaching at my local High School (Hays) where I have been coaching the JV and Varsity Goalkeepers specifically in weekday sessions and also gameday instruction. This exposure has also allowed me to begin training Goalkeepers in 1 on 1 private sessions where I tailor our lesson plan to fit any specific area that needs to be addressed from their game.

My entire athletic career spanned from ages 5-19 where I was a goalkeeper throughout that entire period. I played club soccer at Fusion Soccer Club in Sugar Land, TX and spent 4 years as the Varsity starting Goalkeeper for Fort Bend Austin High School.

My sessions are always custom to the athlete I am working with. We will begin sessions with fundamental work, and then build upon our topic in layers until we are in game-like drills at the conclusion of the session.
