Michael Grimes

I have been coaching both the boys and middle school soccer teams at the middle school I teach at. Students range from 12-14 years of age. In my tenure as coach I have won 2 conference titles and have never finished below 3rd in our conference.

I played for CASL (now NCFC) growing up in the area and was offered a spot to play at Appalachian State University. However, I could not study the area I wanted and be able to do soccer at the same time which led me to dropping soccer while at college. I have played in the Division 1 adult league for TASL since teaching and compete with semi professional teams such as Tobacco Road FC

I will always cater my soccer drills to whatever concept I am being hired to refine. I will usually incorporate drills that focus on high intensity and game-like situations rather than walking through simple concepts and techniques unless requested. I like to put a lot of emphasis on physical fitness and awareness of your body through soccer as well to better understand WHY we are working on something and how it benefits our body and our game.
